This application explores the use of Machine Learning routines to develop a better sense about the Machine-Learning approach to financial series forecasting. As an exercise, we will investigate whether past performance of the stock market can give us any hints about future performance by simply focusing on the shape of the time series of the Market Index. Of course, any seasoned scholar should expect no systematic connection between previous and future performance.
