Maple 9 General Information

I've just installed the Network version of Maple 9 on Linux. I compared the files installed to a Single User Linux installation and there are some files missing. Do I need these files?

The Linux Network version of Maple 9 inadvertantly excludes the following files:

libHelpExamples.so
libnag2mp.so
libnag2.so
libupdate.so
nprofile
processor

Maple 9 will function without these files but adding them may improve the following features:

  • high precision software float sparse linear solving
  • hardware precision array operations such as LinearAlgebra, ModularLinearAlgebra and ArrayTools
  • updating an old worksheet to Maple 9 .mw file format

The following files are also missing from the examples directory:

    BasicHowTo.mws
    LinearAlgebraMigration.mws
    StudentPrecalculus.mws
    WorksheetPackage.mws

If you wish to update your Linux Network installation, please click here to download the missing files.

Unzip and untar these files from the main directory of your Linux installation.
