Main Concept

Vectors  quantities have both magnitude and  direction.

Vectors can only be subtracted from other vectors.

Given two vectors a and b, their difference can be written as $\mathit{a} - \mathit{b}$.

Vector subtraction can be viewed as vector addition.

$\mathit{c}\mathbf{ }\mathbf{ }\mathbf{\=} \mathit{a}\mathbf{ }\mathbf{-}\mathbf{ }\mathit{b}$

$\mathit{c}\mathbf{ }\mathbf{ }\=\mathbf{ }\mathbf{ }\mathit{a}\mathbf{ }\+\mathbf{ }\left(\mathbf{-}\mathit{b}\right)$

By placing two vectors tip-to-tip the difference between the vectors can be found.
