Key Mappings for Greek Characters

In 2-D math notation, you can enter formatted Greek characters.

Tip: Alternatively, use the command and symbol completion feature to enter Greek characters in 2-D math mode. For example, if you type "phi" and then press Esc, the symbol appears as one of the available options to insert.

To enter a Greek character:

1 Press F5 to switch to 2-D math mode.
2 Press Ctrl (or Command for Macintosh) + Shift + G. You can then type a Greek character according to the following keyboard mappings:

 Key Greek Uppercase Key Greek a $\mathrm{\alpha }$ A $\mathrm{Α}$ b $\mathrm{\beta }$ B $\mathrm{Β}$ c $\mathrm{χ}$ C $\mathrm{Χ}$ d $\mathrm{\delta }$ D $\mathrm{\Delta }$ e $\mathrm{ϵ}$ E $\mathrm{Ε}$ f $\mathrm{\phi }$ F $\mathrm{\Phi }$ g $\mathrm{\gamma }$ G $\mathrm{\Gamma }$ h $\mathrm{\eta }$ H $\mathrm{Η}$ i $\mathrm{\iota }$ I $\mathrm{Ι}$ j $\mathrm{\varphi }$ J $\mathrm{ϑ}$ k $\mathrm{\kappa }$ K $\mathrm{Κ}$ l $\mathrm{\lambda }$ L $\mathrm{\Lambda }$ m $\mathrm{\mu }$ M $\mathrm{Μ}$ n $\mathrm{\nu }$ N $\mathrm{Ν}$ o $\mathrm{ο}$ O $\mathrm{Ο}$ p $\mathrm{\pi }$ P $\mathrm{\Pi }$ q $\mathrm{θ}$ Q $\mathrm{Θ}$ r $\mathrm{\rho }$ R $\mathrm{Ρ}$ s $\mathrm{\sigma }$ S $\mathrm{\Sigma }$ t $\mathrm{\tau }$ T $\mathrm{Τ}$ u $\mathrm{\upsilon }$ U $\mathrm{Υ}$ v $\mathrm{\varpi }$ V $\mathrm{ς}$ w $\mathrm{\omega }$ W $\mathrm{\Omega }$ x $\mathrm{\xi }$ X $\mathrm{\Xi }$ y $\mathrm{ψ}$ Y $\mathrm{Ψ}$ z $\mathrm{\zeta }$ Z $\mathrm{Ζ}$
