Magma

 CayleyColorTable
visualise the Cayley table of a finite magma

 Calling Sequence CayleyColorTable( m ) CayleyColourTable( m )

Parameters

m - Array representing the Cayley table of a finite magma

Description

 • The CayleyColorTable command returns a plot that allows you to visualise the Cayley table of a finite magma using color. The spelling CayleyColourTable' is supported as a synonym.

Examples

 > $\mathrm{with}\left(\mathrm{Magma}\right):$
 > $m≔⟨⟨⟨1|2|3⟩,⟨2|3|1⟩,⟨3|1|2⟩⟩⟩$
 ${m}{≔}\left[\begin{array}{ccc}{1}& {2}& {3}\\ {2}& {3}& {1}\\ {3}& {1}& {2}\end{array}\right]$ (1)
 > $\mathrm{CayleyColorTable}\left(m\right)$

Compare symmetry in the Cayley tables of the commutative and non-commutative groups of order 6.

 > $L≔\mathrm{Enumerate}\left(6,'\mathrm{group}','\mathrm{output}'='\mathrm{list}'\right):$
 > $\mathrm{CayleyColorTable}\left(L\left[1\right]\right);$$\mathrm{CayleyColorTable}\left(L\left[2\right]\right)$

Compatibility

 • The Magma[CayleyColorTable] command was introduced in Maple 15.
