statplots(deprecated)/xyexchange - Maple Help

xyexchange, xzexchange, yzexchange

Exchange coordinate axes of a 2-D or 3-D plot

 Calling Sequence stats[statplots, xyexchange](plot) statplots[xyexchange](plot) xyexchange(plot)

Parameters

 plot - plot structure

Description

 • Important: The stats package has been deprecated. Use the superseding package Statistics instead.
 • The function xyexchange of the subpackage stats[statplots] exchanges the x and y coordinates of a 2-D or 3-D plot structure. Similarly, xzexchange and yzexchange exchange the x and z, and y and z coordinates respectively.
 • This function can be used with other plots in order to modify the display output.  It can also be used in conjunction with plots[display] to show various plots on the same axes.
 • The command with(stats[statplots]) allows the use of the abbreviated form of this command.

Examples

exchange the x and y coordinates of a 2-D plot note that this plots the inverse

 > $\mathrm{with}\left(\mathrm{stats}\left[\mathrm{statplots}\right]\right):$
 > $p≔\mathrm{plot}\left('{x}^{2}','x'=-3..3\right):$
 > $\mathrm{xyexchange}\left(p\right)$

plot the exchanged and original plot together

 > $\mathrm{plots}\left[\mathrm{display}\right]\left(\left\{p,\mathrm{xyexchange}\left(p\right)\right\}\right)$

a 3-D object shifted and exchanged

 > $p≔\mathrm{plots}\left[\mathrm{display}\right]\left(\mathrm{plottools}\left[\mathrm{cone}\right]\left(\left[0,0,0\right]\right)\right):$
 > $\mathrm{plots}\left[\mathrm{display}\right]\left(\left\{p,\mathrm{xshift}\left(5,\mathrm{yzexchange}\left(p\right)\right)\right\}\right)$
