Torque Motor
Torque Motor component for R2R systems
Description
Connections
Parameters
The Torque Motor component is a simplified motor model and works as a torque driver. It can drive rollers (Roller, Nip Roller, etc.) or winders (Unwind Drum or Wind Drum) with a defined torque. It is comparable with an ideal torque-controlled motor.
The following is a diagram of the motor components.
Usage
The Torque Motor component needs a defined torque on the input port τ coming from a reference signal or an external control loop (e.g. a speed controller). Optionally it is possible to define a rigid drive line between motor and machine (roller) side. It considers an inertia for the motor as well as for a gear including a gear ratio. Motor losses can be determined as speed depending losses. The component has a speed signal output, w_meas, the rotational speed of the geared output shaft.
Visualization
The Torque Motor component can be visualized in the 3-D Workspace and 3-D Playback Window to show the placement in the R2R web line and present the user-defined tension zones. This is optional and supports the interpretation of a R2R web line. The position of the motor in the x-y plane is needed as well as the roller length, the motor length, and the motor diameter. The color can be also defined by the user.
