This Maple workbook, for use in a Cryptography course or a historical demonstration of the significant use of mathematics, simulates an Enigma M3 coding machine used by the German armed forces in WWII. The Enigma coding was secretly cracked by Alan Turing's group at Bletchley Park during the war building on the work of Marian Rejewski in Poland. The simulator is built with components from the DocumentTools package, and so, can be used by students without knowledge of Maple.
