General Maplesoft Contest and Sweepstakes Rules

These general contest and sweepstake (“contest”) rules apply to contests operated by Maplesoft, a division of Waterloo Maple Inc., and will be subject to applicable Canadian laws as well as applicable laws of any country in which they are conducted. No purchase is necessary. Void in whole or in part where prohibited by law. Participation in any Maplesoft contest constitutes acceptance of these general contest rules.

The following terms and conditions apply:

1. By submitting an entry to a Maplesoft contest, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. For questions, please contact customerservice@maplesoft.com.
2. Maplesoft reserves the right to refuse a contest entry or refuse to award a prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions, or to anyone whose conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of any Maplesoft contest.
3. Maplesoft reserves the right to amend these contest terms and conditions, or the prize(s) to be awarded, as may be required and at Maplesoft’s sole discretion.
4. No purchase is necessary to enter any Maplesoft contest.
5. Participants must be the age of majority or older in their province, territory, state, or country of residence at the time of entry to a contest.
6. Unless otherwise stated, Maplesoft contests are open to all except employees of Maplesoft, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the contest.
7. In entering, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. Maplesoft may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the prize draw or competition.
8. The chances of winning are based on the total number of entries received in each contest conducted.
9. A winner will be chosen by random draw within 7 days of the applicable contests’ conclusion.
10. Winners of any Maplesoft contest will need to correctly answer a skill testing question, as required by Canadian sweepstakes regulations.
11. The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of the close of the contest. If a winner does not respond within 14 days of being notified, their prize will be forfeited and Maplesoft will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above. 
12. The prize will be sent to the winner within 14 days of responding to Maplesoft.
13. The prize is non-negotiable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. Maplesoft reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond Maplesoft's control make it necessary to do so.
14. The decision of Maplesoft regarding any aspect of the contest is final and binding.
15. The winner’s first name, last initial, and country can be obtained by emailing customerservice@maplesoft.com within 60 days after the date of the closing date of the contest in question.
    


Limitation of liability


16. Insofar as is permitted by law, Maplesoft, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring due to the prize(s) awarded except where it is caused by the negligence of Maplesoft, its agents or distributors or that of their employees.
17. Maplesoft is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and will only use your personal information in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and Maplesoft's Privacy Policy which is available on our website: www.maplesoft.com/privacy
18. By entering, you agree that your personal information as provided by you at the time of entry may be held and used by Maplesoft or its agents and suppliers to administer the contest.

19. All our prize draws and competitions will be governed by Canadian law and entrants to the prize draw agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Canadian courts.
20. Maplesoft reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions from time to time and any updated version will be effective as soon as it is published on the Maplesoft website.
